Uncensored Intel is the exact opposite.
I built Uncensored Intel for female entrepreneurs who are done wasting time + money. This blog is designed to free up your time + save you money.
When your copy misses the mark, itβs usually because of a offer-market mismatch in your messaging. The best Female Entrepreneurs act more like investigative journalists than authors...they spend 80% of their time researching and 20% writing. BUT if you are only relying on standard surveys and focus groups, you're only scratching the surface of what your market is thinking.
To write copy that makes your prospects feel like you're reading their minds...dig deeper.
1. Mine Niche Communities for Voice of Customer (VoC)
Surveys are great, but they suffer from observation bias: people change how they speak when they know they are being surveyed. If you want the unfiltered truth, you have to go where your target audience hangs out and complains voluntarily.
Some of the best research happens far outside traditional reports. Niche communities are goldmines for discovering your audience's exact phrasing, fears, and aspirations.
Examples of where to look: Reddit subreddits, Quora threads, specialized Discord servers, and industry-specific forums.
Examples of what to look for: Pay attention to repeated questions, recurring complaints, and the specific jargon they use.
Examples of how to use it: Steal their words verbatim. If a Reddit user describes their problem as being "stuck in a spreadsheet nightmare," don't write "optimize your data management" on your homepage. Write: Escape the spreadsheet nightmare. Mirroring their exact language builds instant trust and makes your copy feel authentic.
2. Raid Your Customer Support Transcripts
Female Entrepreneurs often view customer support as a separate department, but support tickets are one of the most powerful copywriting tools at your disposal. Users share highly detailed problems and honest opinions when they are actively seeking help.
Support channels capture the exact moments of friction that your website copy failed to address or clarify.
Examples of where to look: Chatbot logs, live chat transcripts, email support tickets, and call recordings.
Examples of what to look for: Search for phrases like "I don't understand," "I thought this included," or "How do I..."
Examples of how to use it: If multiple people are messaging support to ask if your software integrates with a specific tool, that information shouldn't be buried in an FAQ page, it needs to be front and center on your homepage. Use support data to proactively handle objections in your copy before the prospect even has to ask.
3. Hijack Your Competitors' Negative Reviews
Studying your competitors' marketing is standard practice, but analyzing their one- and two-star reviews is where the real leverage lies. If customers are consistently complaining about a specific shortcoming of a competitor's product, you can immediately position your offering as the solution.
Pro Tip: Don't just look at what the competitor is doing right; look at the promises they're failing to keep.
Examples of where to look: Trustpilot, G2, Capterra, Yelp, or Amazon reviews of rival products.
Examples of what to look for: Patterns in frustration. Are people angry about hidden fees? Slow customer service? A clunky interface?
Examples of how to use it: Turn their weaknesses into your unique value proposition (UVP). If a competitor's reviews constantly mention that their tool takes weeks to set up, make your hero copy: Get fully set up in under 5 minutes; no IT degree required.
Great copywriting echoes your clients/customer's deepest desires and frustrations back to them. My #1 recommendation, you'll never brainstorm again when you spend more time listening.
Allow me to show you EXACTLY where your market hangs out and what they're thinking.
